Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: Clean all the fuel pipe connections and surrounding areas before disconnecting the pipes in order to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system.

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  2. Disconnect the fuel feed (1) from the fuel rail. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Metal Collar) .
  3. Cap the fuel rail pipes.
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Remove the fuel pipe bracket nut (2).
  6. Remove the fuel pipe bracket from the bellhousing stud.

  8. Remove the fuel lines from the retaining clips (1) on the transmission.

  10. Disconnect the fuel feed line from the rear fuel feed line. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .
  11. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) .
  12. Cap the rear fuel lines.
  13. Remove the fuel line bundle.
    IMPORTANT: Note the position of the fuel bundle clips prior to disassembly.
  14. Remove the fuel line bundle retaining clips.
  15. Remove the fuel feed and/or evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe to be replaced.
