Removal Procedure

The heated oxygen sensor may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is below 48°C (120°F). Excessive force may damage threads in exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
  4. Use the J 39194-B  in order to carefully back out the heated oxygen sensor. See Special Tools .
