Setup for Component Replacement

The replacement of some components will require a setup procedure for complete repair.

• If any of the following components are replaced, an Idle Learn Procedure must be performed. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
  • Idle Learn Procedure in Engine Controls 1.4L DOHC
  • Idle Learn Procedure in Engine Controls 1.6L (L91)
  • Idle Learn Procedure in Engine Controls 1.8L (L79)
  • Idle Learn Procedure in Engine Controls 2.0L (L34 GMDAT)
    • Throttle body assembly
    • ECM
• If any of the following components are replaced, a CKP Variation Learn Procedure must be performed. Refer to CKP System Variation Learn Procedure in Engine Controls 1.8L (L79) or CKP System Variation Learn Procedure in Engine Controls 2.0L (L34 GMDAT).
  • CKP sensor
  • Engine replacement
  • Any engine repair that disturbs the relationship between CKP sensor and the crankshaft reluctor wheel.
