Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left inner fender brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement .
  2. Loosen the air inlet duct clamp at the throttle body.
  3. Remove the air inlet duct from the throttle body.

  5. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube from the air inlet duct. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  7. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
  8. Remove the upper air cleaner housing from the lower housing. Disengage the tabs on the upper housing from the slots on the lower housing.
  9. Without disconnecting the engine control module (ECM) connectors, remove the ECM and the harness from the lower air cleaner housing.
  10. Without disconnecting the transmission control module (TCM) connectors, remove the TCM and the harness from the lower air cleaner housing.
  11. Loosen the air inlet duct clamp at the air cleaner assembly.
  12. Remove the air inlet duct from the air cleaner.

  14. Remove the lower air cleaner housing by pulling the housing from the 2 rubber grommets on the inner rail.
  15. Inspect the air cleaner housing assembly for signs of damage and replace if necessary.
