Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition ON, verify that DTC C0710 42 or C0710 5A is not set.
- Inspect the steering wheel angle sensor for correct installation.
- If loose or incorrect installation is diagnosed, correct the installation of the component.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the steering wheel angle sensor.
- Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 6 and ground.
- If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, test for greater than 11 V between the ignition circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the electronic brake control module.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the steering wheel angle sensor and verify the DTC does not reset.
- If the DTC resets, replace the electronic brake control module.
