Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition ON, verify that DTC C0710 42 or C0710 5A is not set.
  2. Inspect the steering wheel angle sensor for correct installation.
    • If loose or incorrect installation is diagnosed, correct the installation of the component.
  3. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the steering wheel angle sensor.
  4. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 6 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  5. Ignition ON, test for greater than 11 V between the ignition circuit terminal 5 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the electronic brake control module.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the steering wheel angle sensor and verify the DTC does not reset.
    • If the DTC resets, replace the electronic brake control module.
