Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Electrical Connector

  3. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector (1).

  5. Remove the CMP sensor to engine front cover retaining bolt (1).
  6. Remove the CMP sensor (2) from the engine front cover.
  7. Remove the CMP sensor O-ring (3) from the CMP sensor and discard.

    Discard the O-ring.
