Installation Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Relieving Fuel Pressure Warning .

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. WARNING:

    Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .

  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
  4. Fig 1: Fuel Gauge Assembly Components

  5. Turn the fuel gauge assembly valve (3) to the open position.
  6. NOTE:
    • Wrap a shop towel around the schrader valve (2) when connecting the fuel gauge assembly to the fuel pressure inspection valve on the fuel feed pipe to avoid fuel spilling.
    • Screw on the schrader valve quickly to avoid fuel spillage.
  7. Connect the schrader valve (2) to the fuel pressure inspection valve on the fuel feed pipe.
  8. Place the bleed hose (4) into an approved container.
  9. Open the bleed valve (1) to bleed any pressurized fuel.
  10. Close the bleed valve (1) when the fuel pressure has dropped to 0 kPa (psi).
