Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying Ignition Coil To Ignition Coil Assembly Retaining Bolts

  1. Install the ignition coil assembly.
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the ignition coil to ignition coil assembly retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  3. Connect the ignition coil to ignition coil wiring harness connectors (1).
  4. Install the ignition coil assembly to the engine.

  5. Install the ignition coil assembly to rocker cover retaining bolts (2) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
  6. Connect the main ignition coil harness connector (1) to the ignition coil assembly.

  7. Connect the spark plug wires (1) to the ignition coils.
  8. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
  9. If the right side coils were replaced, install the evaporative emission purge pipe. Refer to Evaporative Emission Line Replacement - Engine .
  10. Install the engine compartment fuel line. Refer to Fuel Line Replacement - Engine .
