Installation Procedure
- Do not damage the ECM bracket retainers (2).
- Listen for an audible click to confirm correct installation of the ECM bracket retainers (2).
- Install the ECM (3) to the ECM bracket (1).
- Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (2) to the ECM (1).
- Lock all the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (2) to the ECM (1) by lowering the engine wiring harness electrical connector levers (3).
- Lock all the engine wiring harness electrical connector retainers (4) on the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (2).
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
- Program the ECM. Refer to Engine Control Module Programming and Setup .
- If an ECM programming error is encountered such as "Starting Disabled, Remove Key" on the driver information centre, with a diagnostic test code (DTC) P1631, perform the "10-Minute relearn procedure" found in programming theft deterrent control module programming and setup. Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Programming and Setup .
- Turn OFF the ignition for at least 5 seconds after the ECM programming is complete.
- Use the scan tool to clear all DTCs.

Update the service data of the NEW ECM with the recorded data if necessary.
