Removal Procedure

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. WARNING:

    Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .

  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
  4. Fig 1: Engine Wiring Harness Electrical Connectors

    NOTE:

    Do not damage the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (2).

  5. Unlock all the engine wiring harness electrical connector retainers (4) on the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (2).
  6. Unlock all the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (2) by lifting the engine wiring harness electrical connector levers (3).
  7. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (2) from the ECM (1).

    NOTE:

    Do not damage the ECM bracket retainers (2).

  9. Apply suitable pressure to the ECM bracket retainers (2) and remove the ECM (3) from the ECM bracket (1).
