Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Power Steering Pump Rear Bracket, Power Steering Pump & Mounting Bolts

  1. Install the following components to the power steering pump rear bracket (1):
    • The power steering pump (2)
    • The power steering pump front bracket (3)
    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Install the power steering pump bolts (4) to the power steering pump (2) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  3. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement (LS3, LS7) .
  4. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (LS3, LS7) .
  5. Install the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LS3, LS7) , Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LS9) .
  6. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LS3, LS7) , Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (LS9) .
  7. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
