ECM Reprogramming

If the engine control module (ECM) needs to be reprogrammed, perform the following procedures:

  1. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle and access SPS. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
  2. Perform the SPS function Engine Control Module-Programming and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Engine Oil Life Remaining. If applicable, use the scan tool to set the Engine Oil Life parameter back to the original value recorded before the module was reprogrammed.
