Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the positive crankcase ventilation tube. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement .
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the:
- Evaporative emission purge valve
- Fuel injectors
- Manifold absolute pressure sensor
- Place a collecting basin underneath.
- Release the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
- Disconnect the fuel feed pipe (1) . Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Install CH-807 plug to the fuel feed pipe.
- Remove the 2 evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve bracket bolts (2).
- Relocate the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve and bracket.
- Remove the 2 multiport fuel injection fuel rail bolts (1).
- Remove the multiport fuel injection fuel rail (2) with the fuel injectors (3) from the intake manifold.
- Remove the 4 fuel injector seals.
- Remove the fuel injector retainer (1).
- Remove the fuel injectors.
WARNING:
Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.
