J 45004 Fuel Tank Drain Hose
WARNING:
Never drain or store fuel in an open container. Always use an approved fuel storage container in order to reduce the chance of fire or explosion.
WARNING:
Place a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby before performing any on-vehicle service procedures. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury.
- Remove the fuel fill cap.
- Insert the J 45004 fuel tank drain hose into the fuel tank through the fuel tank fill pipe until the hose reaches the bottom of the fuel tank.
- Use a hand or air operated pump device in order to drain as much fuel from the fuel tank as possible.
- Remove the J 45004 fuel tank drain hose from the fuel tank fill pipe.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Loosen the fuel tank fill hose clamp (1) at the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent rear pipe quick connect fitting (4) from the recirculation line on the fuel fill pipe (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Separate the fuel tank fill hose from the fuel tank.
- Insert the J 45004 fuel tank drain hose into the fuel tank through the fuel tank opening.
- Use the hand or air operated pump device again, drain as much fuel from the fuel tank as possible.
