Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Power Steering Fluid Cooling Pipe

  1. Position the power steering fluid cooling pipe (1) in the vehicle.

  3. Install a NEW power steering fluid cooling pipe O-ring seal (2).
  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Connect the power steering fluid cooling pipe (1) to the steering gear. Tighten the fitting to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).
  6. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement .

  8. Connect the power steering fluid cooling pipe (2) to the lower power steering fluid reservoir, which is on the power steering pump (1). Secure the pipe with the hose clamp.

  10. On the right side of the frame, connect the 2 retainers and the power steering fluid cooling pipe (1) to the frame.
  11. On the right side of the frame, connect the wire harness retainers.

  13. Connect the power steering fluid cooling pipe (1, 4) to the power steering fluid cooler (2, 3). Secure the pipe with the 2 hose clamps.
  14. Install the right side engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement (Right) , Engine Splash Shield Replacement (Left) .
  15. Install the radiator air lower baffle and deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Lower Baffle and Deflector Replacement .
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  18. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
  19. Remove the drain pans.
