Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
    4. Fig 1: Intake Manifold Rear Bracket Bolts

  4. Remove the 2 intake manifold rear bracket bolts (up) (1).
  5. Remove the intake manifold rear bracket bolt (down) (3).
  6. Remove the intake manifold bracket (2).

  7. Remove the fuel rail retaining bolts (1).
  8. Lower the vehicle.

  9. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation hose. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement .
  10. Disconnect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting from the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  11. Disconnect the fuel rail and fuel injector connector.
  12. Remove the fuel rail and fuel injector (1).
  13. Transfer parts as necessary.
