Installation Procedure

  1. Using the adjustable jack, slowly raise and reposition the fuel tank in order to install the tank to the vehicle.
  2. Install the fuel tank strap and strap bolts (6) and tighten to 20 (15 lb ft).
  3. Remove the adjustable jack from under the fuel tank.
  4. Connect the fuel tank filler hose (1) and clamp.
  5. Connect the fuel tank vent pipe connector (2).
  6. Connect the fuel feed pipe connector (3).
  7. Connect the evaporative emission canister purge pipe connector (4).
  8. Connect the fuel tank electrical extension connector (5).
  9. Install the front exhaust muffler assembly. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Front .
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  11. Perform the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
    1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF, for 2 seconds.
    2. Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
    3. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
    4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
