Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Electric Power Steering Module And Bracket Bolts

  1. Install the electric power steering module (2) to the electric power steering module bracket (3).
  2. Install the electric power steering module to bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 3 (27 lb in).
  3. Install the electric power steering module and bracket assembly to the vehicle.

  4. Install the electric power steering module bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 18 (13 lb ft).
  5. Connect the electric power steering module connectors.
  6. Install the instrument panel lower reinforcement bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Reinforcement Bracket Replacement .
  7. Install the steering column opening filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement
  8. Install the inflatable restraint instrument panel lower module replacement of driver side, if equipped. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Replacement - Driver Side .
  9. Install the steering column lower trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement .
  10. If a new electric power steering control module is installed, program the electric power steering control module. Refer to Power Steering Control Module Programming and Setup .
