Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.

    NOTE:

    Ensure the fuel rail threads are clean and free of any excess fuel, or the fuel rail pressure sensor will NOT seal properly.

  1. Lubricate the threads and sealing surface of the NEW fuel rail pressure sensor with one drop of clean engine oil.
  2. Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (2) Fuel Injection Fuel Rail-Install the NEW fuel rail pressure sensor hand tight.
  3. Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (2) Fuel Injection Fuel Rail-Remove and re-lubricate with one drop of clean engine oil.
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  4. Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (2) Fuel Injection Fuel Rail-Install and tighten. 33 N.m (24 lb ft)
  5. Electrical Connector (1) Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor-Connect.
    6. NOTE:

    If a fuel leak occurs at the fuel rail, the fuel rail will need to be replaced.

  6. Pressurize the fuel system and inspect for leaks.
  7. Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement »Install.
