Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Exhaust Service Warning .

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the left post-catalytic converter HO2S . Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 2 .
  3. Remove the right post-catalytic converter HO2S. Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 2 .

  5. Remove the catalytic converter fasteners (1) and remove the exhaust muffler (4) from the exhaust isolators (3).
  6. Support the exhaust system with a suitable jack or mechanics wire.
  7. Discard the catalytic converter exhaust seals (2) and fasteners (1).

  9. Remove the underbody brace fasteners (2).
  10. Remove the underbody brace (1).

  12. Remove the rear exhaust isolator hanger bracket fasteners (1) above the left and right rear mufflers.

  14. Remove the center exhaust isolator hanger bracket to differential retaining fastener (1).
  15. Detach the exhaust system assembly from the center exhaust isolator hanger bracket to differential retaining stud (1).
  16. With the aid of an assistant or using a suitable jack; carefully lower the exhaust system from the vehicle.
