Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  3. Fig 1: Camshaft Position Sensor Electrical Connector

  4. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector (1).
  5. Fig 2: CMP Sensor, O-ring & Bolt

  6. Remove the CMP sensor to engine front cover retaining bolt (1).
  7. Remove the CMP sensor (2) from the engine front cover.
  8. Remove and DISCARD the CMP sensor O-ring (3).
