Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  3. Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement (LFM) .
  4. Remove the 4 ignition coil connectors. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement (LL0) , Ignition Coil Replacement (LFM) .
  5. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation hose. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (LL0) , Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement (LFM) .
  6. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  7. Remove the intake manifold rear bracket. Refer to Lower Intake Manifold Replacement (LFM) .

  9. Remove the fuel rail retaining bolts (1, 2).
  10. Lower the vehicle.

  12. Disconnect the fuel feed hose connector (1) from the fuel rail.
  13. Disconnect the 4 fuel injector electrical connectors and remove the fuel injector rail wiring harness (2).
  14. Remove the fuel rail and fuel injector (3).
