Adjustment Procedure

  1. Before performing any adjustment affecting the wheel alignment, refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement .
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Strut Assembly To Steering Knuckle Retaining Bolts & Nuts

  3. Install the service only camber adjusting bolt (3) (M10x1.5x40) into the threaded hole at the top of the knuckle and gentle tighten until it is snug against the strut body.
  4. Loosen the strut to the knuckle bolts (2). Refer to Strut Assembly Removal and Installation (With FE5)Strut Assembly Removal and Installation (Without FE5) .
  5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Adjust the front camber to specifications using the camber adjusting bolt (3), refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement .
  7. Tighten the strut-to-knuckle nuts (1) to:
    • First Pass: 80 N.m (59 lb ft)
    • Final Pass: plus 180 degrees
  8. Remove the service only camber adjusting bolt (3).
  9. NOTE:

    After adjusting the front camber, it is necessary to adjust the front toe.

  10. Adjust the front toe. Refer to Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment (with N41) Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment (with NV9) .
