Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

    WARNING:

    Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning .

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief 
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Fuel Tank Draining 
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  4. Remove the right rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  5. Remove Exhaust System. Exhaust System Replacement
  6. Remove Propeller Shaft. Propeller Shaft Replacement
  7. Remove Fuel Tank Heat Shield.
  8. Remove Parking Brake Rear Cable -Left Side. Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side
  9. Remove Parking Brake Rear Cable - Right Side. Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Right Side
  10. Lower the rear frame. Rear Frame Replacement

  11. Disconnect Evaporative Emission Line (1).Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  12. Disconnect Electrical Connector (2).

  13. Remove Hose Clamp (1).
  14. Remove Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2).
  15. Disconnect Evaporative Emission Line (3).Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  16. Disconnect Electrical Connector (1).
  17. Disconnect Fuel Feed Line (2). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  18. Disconnect Evaporative Emission Line (3).Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  19. Support the fuel tank with a suitable jack.

  20. Remove Fuel Tank Strap Fastener (1).
  21. Remove Fuel Tank Strap (2).
  22. Remove Fuel Tank (3).
  23. Transfer components as necessary.
