Transmission Control Module (TCM) Replacement
If the TCM is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:
Use a scan tool to view and record the Transmission Control Module - End Model Part Number in the original TCM prior to starting the TCM reprogramming procedure.
If you are unable to communicate with the TCM during step 1 and do not have a CD-ROM containing characterization data for this transmission. Take a picture of the QR Code label and send to TCSC. TCSC will retrieve the data from the label and send back the information needed for Transmission Control Module-Configuration.

- Using a Scan Tool, access the Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Before removing the old control module, perform the SPS function, Prepare Control Module for Removal, if available.NOTE:
The Prepare Control Module for Removal function can only be performed when communication with the old control module is still possible.
- Replace the TCM.
- Perform the SPS function K71 Transmission Control Module-Programming and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Clear the DTC's after completing the Programming procedure.NOTE:
When prompted select the file from Prepare Control Module for Removal step.
- Perform the SPS function K71 Transmission Control Module-Configuration and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Clear DTC's after completing the Configuration & Setup procedure.
