Transmission Replacement

NOTE:

The Read Only Memory (ROM) is part of the control solenoid valve assembly which is part of the transmission assembly, and is not serviced separately.

If you are unable to communicate with the TCM during step 3 and do not have a CD-ROM containing characterization data for this transmission. Take a picture of the QR Code label and send to TCSC. TCSC will retrieve the data from the label and send back the information needed for Transmission Control Module-Configuration.

  1. Replace the Transmission.
  2. Using a Scan Tool, access the Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Perform the SPS function K71 Transmission Control Module-Programming and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Clear the DTC's after completing the Programming procedure.
  5. Perform the SPS function K71 Transmission Control Module-Configuration and follow the on-screen instructions.
    NOTE:

    When prompted select the file from CD provided with Transmission.

  6. Clear DTC's after completing the Configuration procedure.
  7. Perform the Transmission Oil Life Reset procedure.
