Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

To prevent equipment damage, never connect or disconnect the wiring harness connection from the EBCM with the ignition switch in the ON position.

  1. Prepare the electronic brake control module (EBCM) for removal. Refer to Control Module References .
  2. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.

  4. Thoroughly clean the area around the EBCM of all dirt and debris.
  5. Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector.
  6. Remove the EBCM bolts (1).

    NOTE:

    Do not attempt to pry or lever against the EBCM.

  8. Carefully separate the EBCM (1) from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) by pulling straight away from the BPMV.

    Do not force the components apart.
