Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Left Side)Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Right Side) .
  2. Remove the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement .
  3. Remove the passenger front seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation .
  4. Remove the rear seat back cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Split Folding Side Cushion Sedan)Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Split Folding Center Cushion Sedan)Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation (Fixed Back) .
  5. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  6. Fig 1: Accessory Relay Block, Positive Cable & Body Harness Connectors

  7. Remove the battery positive cable cover (5).
  8. Disconnect the battery positive cable connector (2) from the accessory relay block (1).
  9. Disconnect the battery positive cable connector (3) from the body harness connector (4).

  11. Loosen the battery positive cable clamp fastener (1) and remove the battery positive cable (2), from the battery.

  13. Detach the battery positive cable retainers (1) from the body harness conduit.
  14. Slide the battery positive cable (2) through the back seat opening.

  16. Within the rear passenger compartment area, detach the battery positive cable retainers (1) along the body harness conduit.

  18. Detach the battery positive cable retainers (1) from the floor panel tunnel.

  20. Remove the battery positive cable cover (3) and remove the battery positive cable passthrough fastener (2).
  21. Remove the battery positive cable (1) from the passenger compartment.
