Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Left Side)Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement (Right Side) .

  3. Remove the battery positive cable cover (2).
  4. Loosen the battery positive cable clamp fastener (1) and remove the battery positive cable (3), from the battery positive post.

  5. Remove the battery hold down retainer fastener (2) and the battery hold down retainer (1).
  6. Remove the battery strap fastener (5) and remove the battery strap (3).
  7. Rotate the battery handle (4) upwards and remove the battery (6) from the rear compartment.
