Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .
    2. Fig 1: Fuel Injector, Fuel Rail, Retaining Clips And Seals

  2. Remove the fuel injector to fuel rail assembly retaining clips (2).
    3. CAUTION:

    Use care in removing the fuel injectors in order to prevent damage to the fuel injector electrical connector pins or the fuel injector nozzles. Do not immerse the fuel injector in any type of cleaner. The fuel injector is an electrical component and may be damaged by this cleaning method.

  3. Remove the fuel injector (4) from the fuel rail (1).
  4. Remove the injector lower O-ring seal (5) from the spray tip end of each injector and discard.
  5. Remove the injector upper O-ring seal (3) from the fuel rail end of each injector and discard.
