Throttle Body Assembly Replacement

CAUTION:

Handle the electronic throttle control components carefully. Use cleanliness in order to prevent damage. Do not drop the electronic throttle control components. Do not roughly handle the electronic throttle control components. Do not immerse the electronic throttle control components in cleaning solvents of any type.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  3. An 8-digit part identification number is stamped on the throttle body casting. Refer to this number if servicing, or if a part replacement is required.
1 Throttle Body Fastener (Qty: 4)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE:

In order to prevent possible contamination, cover or plug any opening when servicing the throttle body.


Tighten 
12 N.m (9 lb ft)
2 Throttle Body
CAUTION:

Do not insert any tools into the throttle body bore in order to avoid damage to the throttle valve plate.

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the throttle body harness connector.
  2. Perform the throttle learn procedure. Refer to Throttle or Idle Learn .
NOTE:

The throttle body gasket is one time use and should be replaced when the throttle body is removed.
