Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2015 GMC Yukon XL, 2015 GMC Yukon, 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2015 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The side object sensor module - left communicates on a private communication data bus with the side object sensor module - right. The side object sensor module - left is the master and is responsible for communicating with other control modules on the vehicle, as well as setting DTCs for both side object sensor modules.

The side object sensor module - right is responsible for illuminating the left and right side blind spot indicators. The indicators are located on each outside rearview mirror glass. The indicators each receive ground at all times and are controlled by side object sensor module - right though a discrete control circuit. When a vehicle is located in the vehicle's blind spot or is in an adjacent lane, approaching the side of the vehicle, the side object sensor module - right will illuminate the indicator by applying voltage to the appropriate control circuit. If the driver turns on a turn signal, indicating an intention to change lanes, the side object sensor module - right will flash the indicator as an additional warning.
