Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Valve Lifter Follower And Gauge

  1. Lubricate the valve lifter follower (1) with engine oil.
    2. NOTE:

    The valve lifter follower (1) must be used in conjunction with the gauge (2) to fine the base circle of the camshaft.

  2. Install valve lifter follower (1) into the head bore aligning the guide pins with the grooves in the fuel pump head bore prior to installing the gauge.
  3. Install the EN-51365  gauge (2).
  4. With help of an assistant rotate the crankshaft until the EN-51365  gauge (2) is flush with the cylinder head. This indicates the camshaft lobe is at the base circle position.
  5. Remove the EN-51365  gauge (2).
  6. Remove Valve Lifter Follower (1)

  7. Lubricate the valve lifter follower (1) with engine oil.
  8. Install valve lifter follower (1) into the head bore aligning the guide pins with the grooves in the fuel pump head bore..
  9. Install NEW Fuel Pump Seal (2)
  10. Install Fuel Pump (3)
    11. CAUTION:

    Component Fastener Tightening Caution

  11. Install the 2 fuel pump bolts (4) alternating in steps of 1/2 turn.
  12. Fuel Pump Bolt (4) - Tighten 2.5 N.m (18 lb ft)

  13. Remove the EN-6015  plugs from all connections.
  14. Connect Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) @Fuel Pump (2) Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  15. Install Fuel Pump Insulator (3)@Fuel Pump (1)
  16. Connect the electrical connector.(2)

  17. Install Engine Wiring Harness Bracket (2)
  18. Install Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Bolt (1) and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  19. Install Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement - High Pressure

  20. Install Engine Wiring Harness (3)
  21. Install Engine Wiring Harness Clip (1, 2)
  22. Connect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector.(5)
  23. Connect Electrical Connector (4) @Fuel Injection Fuel Rail
  24. Connect Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose@Throttle Body Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement 
  25. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  26. Perform the scan tool learn/reset function:Control Module References .
