Removal Procedure

WARNING:

The noise cancelling foam component MUST be replaced if it has been exposed to engine fluids. Failure to replace the noise cancelling foam component that has been exposed to engine fluids may result in an engine fire resulting in catastrophic engine damage, and possible injury or death.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure.Fuel Pressure Relief 
  3. Disconnect Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose@Throttle Body Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement 
  4. Reposition away Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose

  6. Disconnect Electrical Connector (4) @Fuel Injection Fuel Rail
  7. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector.(5)
  8. Unclip Engine Wiring Harness Clip (1, 2)
  9. Position aside Engine Wiring Harness (3)
  10. Remove Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement - High Pressure

  12. Remove Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Bolt (1)
  13. Position aside Engine Wiring Harness Bracket (2)

  15. Disconnect the electrical connector.(2)
  16. Remove Fuel Pump Insulator (3) @Fuel Pump (1)

  18. Disconnect Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) @Fuel Pump (2) Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  19. Close all connections with EN-6015  plugs.

  21. Loosen the 2 fuel pump bolts (4) alternating in steps of 1/2 turn.
  22. Remove Fuel Pump Bolt (4)
  23. NOTE:

    Ensure the valve lifter follower (1) does not slide out of the head bore during the removal of the fuel pump.

  24. Remove Fuel Pump (3)
  25. Remove Valve Lifter Follower (1)
  26. Remove Fuel Pump Seal (2) and DISCARD
