Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Suitable Jack, Fuel Tank Straps And Bolts

    NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

  1. Install the fuel tank (1) to the jack (3).
  2. Position and raise the fuel tank (1).
  3. Install Fuel Tank Strap(2)
    4. CAUTION:

    Fastener Caution

  4. Install Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (4) and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
  5. Lower and remove the hydraulic jack.(3)

  6. Connect the electrical connector.(1)

  7. Reposition Evaporative Emission Canister Filter Pipe (2)
  8. Connect Evaporative Emission Canister Filter Pipe (2) @Evaporative Emission Canister (1) Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  9. Close all connections with EN-6015  plugs.
  10. Connect the evaporative emission canister front pipe (1). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  11. Connect Fuel Feed Pipe - Underbody (1) Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  12. Remove the EN-6015  plugs from all connections.
  13. Fuel Tank Vent Pipe (1) - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  14. Install Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2)
  15. Clamp (3) - Tighten 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)

  16. Position both parking brake cables.
  17. Install Parking Brake Cable (2) @Parking Brake Cable Bracket (1)
  18. Install Parking Brake Cable (2) @Retainer (4)
  19. Install Parking Brake Cable Nut (3) and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  20. Install Fuel Tank Heat Shield (1) Fuel Tank Heat Shield Replacement (1.4L LE2, and 1.6L Diesel LH7 - Notchback)

    NOTE:

    Do not cut the exhaust system.

  21. Install Exhaust System (1) Exhaust System Replacement (Notchback)Exhaust System Replacement (Hatchback)
  22. Lower the vehicle.
  23. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
