Side Object Sensor Replacement

Preliminary Procedures 
Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to. Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
1 Side Object Sensor Front

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the side object sensor electrical connector.
  2. Release the locking tabs on the side object sensor.
  3. The side object sensor is a one piece design. Do NOT twist the sensor cap to try to remove the painted cap.
  4. Remove and replace the side object sensor. Replacement sensor is purchased pre-painted to match fascia/bumper body color.
NOTE:
  • Do NOT refinish previously painted sensors. Excess paint build up can cause the sensor to be rendered inoperative.
  • Ensure the silicone decoupling ring is installed on the sensor to avoid sensor failure.
