Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

- Remove the right catalytic converter from the vehicle. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side

- Remove the starter motor heat shield retaining fasteners (1).
- Remove the heat shield (2) from the vehicle.

- Disconnect the oil level switch connector (1) and the harness retainer (2), to the battery positive cable bracket.
- Disconnect the knock sensor connector (4) and the electrical connector (3), to the starter solenoid.

- Remove the protective boot (1) covering the starter B + stud and remove the battery positive cable fastener (2).
- Remove the battery positive cable bracket fastener (3) and remove the battery positive cable (4), from the starter.

- Remove the starter mounting fasteners (1) and remove the starter (2) from the bell housing.
