Installation Procedure
- Install the steering gear (4) to the cradle.
- Install the steering gear bolts (1), washers (2) and nuts (3) and tighten the bolts to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) + 90 - 105 degrees.CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Install the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .
- Raise the rear portion of cradle and align the cradle to the body floor panel. Install the cradle front bolts, the cradle bracket bolts and the cradle rear bolts. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Replacement .
- Remove the hydraulic jack from the cradle.
- Connect the transmission rear mount to the transmission rear mount bracket. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement .
- Connect both of the control arm ball joints to the steering knuckles. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
- Connect both of the stabilizer shaft links to the struts. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
- Connect both of the steering gear tie rod ends. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .
- Install the exhaust muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement (L5Q)Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LV7) .
- Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
- Install both of the front bumper fascia opening lower covers. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Opening Lower Cover Replacement .
- Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Install the steering column dash seal. Refer to Steering Column Dash Inner Seal Replacement .
- Connect the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
- Measure and adjust the front toe. Refer to Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment
- Calibrate the steering angle sensor. Refer to Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Centering .
