Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Starter Bolts And Starter

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the starter (2) and starter bolts (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  2. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the bank 2 knock sensor (3).
  3. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the starter.

  4. Install the battery positive junction block cable terminal (2) to the starter.
  5. Install the starter solenoid BAT terminal nut (3).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the starter heat shield (2) and bolt (1).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

  7. Install the left catalytic convertor. Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
