Installation Procedure
- Ensure that the fuel feed pipe and fuel pump fittings are clean and dry prior to assembly.
- Lubricate the pipes with silicon free engine oil, or equivalent. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Position the NEW fuel feed pipe (2) to the cylinder head and high pressure fuel pump.
- Install the fuel feed pipe fitting to the high pressure fuel pump hand tight.
- Install the fuel feed pipe bolts (4).
- Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb in).
- Tighten the fitting to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
- Connect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting to the fuel feed pipe (2). Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement
- Inspect for leaks using the following procedure:
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
- Turn OFF the ignition, for 10 seconds.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
- Install the low side fuel pressure service port cap.
- Install the fuel tank cap.
- Install the high pressure pump shield. Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement
- Install the fuel injection sight shield. Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
NOTE:
If a fuel leak accrues at the high pressure fuel pump, the pump will need to be replaced.
