Unsuccessful Programming Recovery

If programming a control module is not successful, perform the following procedure:

  1. DO NOT turn the vehicle OFF. Ensure that all ECU, DLC and programming tool connections are secure and the TIS terminal operating software is up to date.
  2. NOTE:

    If the K114A Hybrid/EV Powertrain Control Module 1 is programmed with the hood open, the vehicle will not start until the hood is closed. Normal operation will return after the hood has been closed.

  3. Attempt to reprogram the ECU.
    • If the programming is not successful 
    1. Turn the vehicle OFF for at least 1 minute.
    2. Turn the vehicle ON and attempt to reprogram the ECU.
      • If the programming is not successful, replace the ECU.
      • Go to next step: If the programming is successful
    3. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If the programming is successful 
  4. All OK.
