Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (9C1, 5W4) , or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Front Bumper Fascia Skid Plate Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  4. Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (2) - Remove [4x]

    Underbody Splash Shield (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    The proper position of the underbody skid shield is between the underbody splash shield and the front frame.

    Underbody Splash Shield Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

  7. Underbody Skid Shield (3) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Disconnect the power steering control module wiring torque sensor harness (1) from the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear.

    NOTE:

    Remove the power steering assist motor wire clip (3).

  10. Disconnect the power steering control module torque sensor wiring harness (1) from the power steering assist motor.
  11. Remove the power steering control module torque sensor wiring harness clip (2) from the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear housing.
  12. Remove the power steering control module torque sensor wiring harness.
