Restraints Control Module Replacement

Callout Component Name
WARNING:

Do not strike or jolt the Restraints Control Module (RCM). Before applying power to the RCM, make sure that it is securely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installation procedure could cause Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

WARNING:

Refer to SIR Warning .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling 
  2. Remove the transmission control.
    1. {M3F} Transmission Control Replacement (With Base) , or Transmission Control Replacement (Without Base)
    2. {MRG} Transmission Control Replacement (With Base) , or Transmission Control Replacement (Without Base)
  3. Floor Rear Air Outlet Duct Adapter Replacement - Left Side
  4. Floor Rear Air Outlet Duct Adapter Replacement - Right Side
1 Airbag Sensing and Diagnostic Module Nut [3x]
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Restraints Control Module

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  2. Perform the necessary programming and setup procedure: K36 Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module: Programming and Setup
  3. Enable the SIR System. SIR Disabling and Enabling
