Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  2. Without draining the engine coolant and without disconnecting the hoses, remove and position aside the radiator surge tank. - Radiator Surge Tank Replacement
  3. Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Front Pipe - Remove - Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Front Pipe Replacement
  4. Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Rear Pipe - Remove - Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Rear Pipe Replacement
  5. Thoroughly clean the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) area of any accumulated dirt and debris.
  6. Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector.
  7. NOTE:

    Label all the brake pipes to ensure they are re-installed in the correct ports of the brake pressure modulator valve.

    Left Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect

  9. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Right Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect

  11. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Right Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect

  13. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Left Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect

  15. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

    Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove

    Electronic Brake Control Module with Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Assembly (1) - Remove
