Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

    Install drain plug (2) and seal and tighten to 39 N.m (29 lb ft).

  2. Fill the transfer case to the bottom of the fill plug hole with the recommended fluid. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , and Approximate Fluid Capacities .
  3. Install fill plug (1) and seal and tighten to 39 N.m (29 lb ft).
  4. Inspect the cross member to ensure that no oil has drained into the cross member cavity. Clean the cross member if necessary.
