Detonation Sensor

Used only on the 5.2L engine, this sensor is located in the intake manifold and sends a low voltage signal to the SCC whenever engine knock is detected. The SCC than retards ignition timing a maximum of 11°, the actual amount being proportional to strength and frequency of detonation. When the condition no longer exists, ignition timing is advanced to its original value.
