Electronic Fuel Control System: Description
The Electronic Fuel Control system (EFC) is used on all carbureted 1.6L, 1.7L and 2.2L engines with front wheel drive. EFC is an electronically controlled system that closely controls air/fuel ratio and ignition timing. The Spark Control Computer (SCC) is the heart of the system.
This computer provides the capability of igniting a lean air/fuel mixture according to different modes of engine operation; plus, during closed loop operation, the computer maintains the air/fuel mixture close to the ideal ratio of 14.7:1.
