Throttle Position Sensor (TPS): Removal

  1. Disconnect battery negative cable and 6-way throttle body connector. Remove 2 screws mounting TPS to throttle body.
  2. Unclip wiring clip from convoluted tube and remove mounting bracket. Lift TPS off throttle shaft. Remove "O" ring.
  3. Pull 3 TPS wires off convoluted tubing. Using a small screwdriver, lift locking tab from inside 6-way throttle body connector for each TPS wire blade terminal.
  4. Remove each blade from connector. Make note of wiring position for reassembly.
