System Operation

EGR flow is further controlled by a backpressure transducer in the EGR signal line. The transducer uses exhaust backpressure to control EGR valve signal vacuum, bleeding the signal vacuum off to the atmosphere when exhaust backpressure to the EGR drops below a calibrated valve. Venturi vacuum control is used for EGR operation on V8 engines.
