Power Module

Power module uses special circuits to supply voltage for ignition coil, fuel injector and alternator field. High current is required to operate these devices. Power module is isolated to reduce any electrical noise that might be heard in passenger compartment. Power module is located in-line with intake air duct at front left side of engine compartment.

ASD relay is integral part of power module and receives operating voltage from power module. ASD relay provides operating voltage for fuel pump, ignition coil, fuel injector and some circuits of power module. Voltage convertor is also integral to power module. Battery voltage is converted to constant output of 8.0 volts, which is used to power distributor pick-up and logic module.
